THURSDAY, 4pm: The players, officials and parents of Mowbray Rangers Under 11s have thanked Melton dealership Marshall Land Rover for sponsoring all-weather kit this season.
This is the second time the Leicester Road-based Marshall have supported the team.

Coach Rob Burrows said: "The players are absolutely thrilled and they all look great in the new tracksuits. For a local company to show such significant support especially in these difficult economic times is greatly appreciated.

"This season the team have started to play 11-a-side in the Grantham League with new players added and it's great we have been able to provide them with matching kit.

"A special thank you to Caroline Marchington, bodyshop manager, for her assistance in arranging this sponsorship."

The team have started the season in fine fashion, winning four of six league games and are optimistic for the rest of the season.

BEAUMONT TOWN 1 MELTON FOXES 5
FOXES recorded a long-awaited win after a fast-paced game.

Ed Thompson latched on to a cross to put Melton ahead, but before long Beaumont responded with one of their few chances of the first half, a one-on-one with keeper Callum Watkins.

Heading towards half-time Foxes regained the lead when Henry Newton ran down the right and shot past the keeper.

Foxes came out attacking again and controlled most of the second half, with additional goals from Tom McDonald, Connor Sexton and Ryan Davis to ensure the win.

Foxes: C. Sexton (c), C. Watkins, A. Thorn, J. Partridge, T. McDonald, L. Dolby, E. Thompson, C. McGuire, H. Newton, R. Davis, W. Knatt.

CROWTHER and Wray set up Stannard to open the scoring.

Stannard's shot was then parried to Crowther who made it two.

Countesthorpe pulled one back, before Stannard's perfectly-timed flick allowed Thomson to make it three. Thomson turned supplier for Wray who made it 4-1 on half-time.

After the break, Crowther set Thomson away down the wing and his cross found Stannard for 5-1.

Wilson and Wray were denied by the keeper before Crowther netted Thomson's corner. Thomson's fine shot was palmed to Wray who made it 7-1 before Countesthorpe grabbed a late consolation.

Rangers: J. Adey, H. Burdett, J. Burgoyne, G. Crowther, J. Graham, T. Lambert, L. Schofield, J. Snodin, S. Stannard, R. Thompson, H. Wells, K. Williams, C. Wilson, B. Wray.

MOWBRAY RANGERS 4 EPWORTH 4
EPWORTH went ahead with a goal on the break before Crowther and Thomson found Stannard in the area to equalise.

Wilson's through ball reached Stannard who shot just wide. Epworth retook the lead with a header from a corner, and nearly extended it with a shot over the bar.

Crowther found Stannard for his second equaliser, before Epworth took the lead from a quickly-taken short corner.

Moments later it was 4-2 with another header, and without Burgoyne's perfectly-timed tackle and Snodin's clearance it would have been five.
Schofield set up Stannard's hat-trick, and Thomson ended a frantic first half with the equaliser.

The second half was all Rangers, but despite fine efforts from Thomson, Stannard and Burgoyne, Rangers could not force the winner.

LEICESTER CITY FOXES 7 ASFORDBY DIAMONDS 1
FIVE late goals produced a flattering scoreline for the leaders.

Asfordby welcomed new manager Richard Tait, replacing Neil Clark who was thanked for his hard work, dedication and perseverance over the last five years.

Diamonds gave as good as they got before half-time and were unlucky to fall behind midway through the half to a long-range free kick.

Leicester pressured again after the break, but defenders Olivia Parry, Abbie Geeson and keeper Ellie Roberts thwarted the growing threat with Geeson heading clear time and again.

Captain Connie Ingall's run and shot was just wide, while Anya Elliot, Abbie Brown and Charlotte Tait put in a tremendous effort. Diamonds brought on Abbie Roberts, Kayleigh Martin and Carly Simpson who all played their part.

Diamonds: E. Roberts, A. Geeson, O. Parry, A. Elliot, C. Ingall, C. Tait, A. Brown, C. Simpson, K. Martin, A. Roberts.

A FINE team display saw Rangers through in difficult conditions.

Mowbray began strongly and after Luke Jane and Lewis Hyde went close, Owen Skeels set up Jay Knipe to put Rangers ahead. Thomas Woods saved well as Ratby threatened, but Knipe's pass found Jane to make it 2-0.

Ratby pulled one back before Lewis Sampson allowed Jane to restore Rangers' two-goal lead. Knipe added his second after good play by Thomas Harris. Man-of-the-match Knipe completed a hat-trick when pouncing on a keeper's parry from Hyde's shot.

Rangers: T. Woods, S. Duce, R. Beattie, M. Lowe, L. Sampson, O. Skeels, L. Hyde, T. Harris, L. Jane, J. Knipe, T. Henfrey, O. Dalby, M. Young, T. Young.

MELTON FOXES 3 BEAUMONT TOWN 1
FOXES produced their best display to defeat very physical opponents.

Foxes showed their intention from kick-off with some fine challenges and gave the opposition no time on the ball. Griffin was felled and converted the penalty.

Griffin's great challenge in turn fed Newton who found Heathcote to run on and coolly slot home just before half-time.

Just after the break Thurley's shot was deflected over the keeper for 3-0.

Everyone played their hearts out and when a free kick found the net to give Beaumont hope, Foxes held out for three fantastic points.

Defenders Bent, Adams and Benzie and a superb Smith were never really challenged and with 10 minutes left, Price curled in a great finish from the byline.

MELTON FOXES 0 THURMASTON THUNDER 3
FOXES suffered a disappointing loss in a game of two halves.

A goalless first half brought few chances with defenders Pratley and Kay effective against Thurmaston's attacks. After half-time, two Thunder strikers were given space to put them ahead, and a close-range second followed.

Carroll dribbled around three players, but was denied by the keeper as Foxes continued to battle hard in midfield through Wait and Smith.

Thurmaston's third came courtesy of a deflection after a goalmouth scramble.

Foxes' man-of-the-match, keeper Hourd, made two excellent reaction saves, while Melton's best chance came when Archer and Carroll linked up well, but the keeper denied them again.

MELTON FOXES 5 LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 2
FOXES began poorly, conceding a silly goal before Cleall equalised.

The second half started very strongly with T. Dryell putting Foxes ahead.

Loughborough levelled, but Foxes responded well, Dryell adding his second. Sunderland and Clarke defended well, and Doherty made some superb tackles, while Thompson broke free to pressure Dynamo.

Dawkin scored from a free kick before hitting his second after a break down the wing.

Dryell was hauled down with a bad tackle, but no penalty was given, and his collarbone was broken sidelining him for eight weeks. Melton Foxes would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

Foxes: S. Dryell, T. Dryell, N. Sunderland, S. Clarke, L. Cleall, W. Thompson, A. Doherty, J. Dawkin.

ROTHLEY IMPS 8 ASFORDBY AMS OSPREYS 0
A TOUGH game on a heavy pitch saw Ospreys defend valiantly under pressure.

They restricted Rothley to a single goal in the first half as man-of-the-match Cole Taylor and Jake Shelley worked well in defence alongside keeper Matthew Hill.

But tiredness and Rothley's good football won the day and even Hill's penalty save could not stop the flow of goals. James Lewis ran himself into the ground for the team.

Ospreys: M. Hill, C. Taylor, J. Shelley, M. Hill, J. Lewis, C. Sharp, Z. Jolliffe, R. Eldridge, J. Osborne.

White completed his hat-trick with two more goals and quickly added a fourth. Daniel Belcher closed down the keeper to score the seventh and cap a fine display.

MOWBRAY forgot last week's disappointment with their best performance of the season.

Glenfield began well, testing James Rowell who made two great saves. A super move between Kye Knipe, William Graham and Josh Tapsell brought the opener before Daniel Jane added a second near half-time.

Rangers began the second half as they had finished the first with good strong defence from Joe Ball and Josh Clark. Knipe made it three after constant team pressure.

Graham was pushed up into his favourite position and scored the goal of the game.

Tigers: J. Rowell, J. Clark (c), J. Ball, D. Jane, K. Knipe, W. Graham, J. Tapsell.
