Cottesmore came into the game and pressured Asfordby with Luke Copland forced into a good challenge.

Debutant Harry Calver showed good promise in midfield alongside Danny Seals as Nick Bowler split the defence for Graham Bowler who took on the last two defenders but shot wide, while a Cottesmore counter-attack ended wide.

Nick Irish's huge goalkick was won by Graham Bowler whose cross was just headed over by Smith.

Cottesmore took the lead when a cross from the byline was fired in at close range by John Morton. The last chance of the first half saw Rob Bowler shoot just wide.

Asfordby came out optimistically and could have been ahead, but for a series of blocks from a goalmouth scramble. But Cottesmore moved into the comfort zone with a well-struck shot from distance by Marfcus Baines for 2-0.
