Belvoir men return to top of league

TUESDAY, 5.30pm: Belvoir returned to the top of Melton and District Badminton League Men's Division One after another strong performance.
They beat Mars 8-1 away from home with Phil Pugh increasing his winning streak to nine games and keeping his average up at an excellent 173 after three matches.

Neil Dodes, a new recruit from OGs, also won his three games to take his record to 6-0 with a 144 average.

In Men's Division Two Staveley B avenged a 9-0 whitewash by Great Dalby by using home advantage at Asfordby Amateurs to win 7-2, Sly Chung and Richard Lee winning all three rubbers.

Will Pickard/Lee Cuthbert beat Jon Hume/Andy Burdett 28-26, 23-21; lost to Paul Haynes/Neil Dodes 22-20, 17-21, 22-24; lost to Paul Stapleford/Phil Pugh 21-12, 12-21, 10-21. Barry Pick/Darren Cuthbert lost 18-21, 21-19, 18-21; lost 17-21, 17-21; lost 14-21, 20-22. James Lomas/Gary Woolley lost 11-21, 10-21; lost 16-21, 13-21; lost 7-21, 13-21.

Men's Division Two

Sly Cheug/Richard Lee beat Simon Kemp/Phil Tyler 21-17, 21-19; beat Adam Houghton/James Mason 21-11, 21-14; beat Pete Mayfield/George Ravenhall 21-10, 21-17. Peter Barnett/Casey Miller lost 7-21, 15-21; won 21-19, 22-20; won 23-21, 21-15. Andy Hurran/Zen Kurys lost 7-21, 12-21; won 21-12, 21-12; won 20-22, 21-17, 21-18.
