Community radio station 103 The Eye teamed up with Melton Sports for a special outside broadcast to celebrate GB success at the Rio Olympics and grassroots sport in Melton.

Sports club representatives were interviewed by presenters Steve Hack and Michael Hallam (pictured with Stilton Striders club captain Rob Beers) from a pop up studio in the King Street shop and listeners contacted the programme with their golden moments from the games.

103 The Eye’s Christine Slomkowska said: “It’s great to take the station out and about to meet listeners and showcase what we do.”

Michael Cooke of Melton Sports added: “The start of a new season is exciting. We seek to serve the community and an event like this helps give sports clubs a chance to promote themselves.”
